SDC Members will hang out at the Dahllia Garden and visit the various Gardens at the Preserve. Interact with Passersby.  Dress for Garden Work, Gloves, Hat, tools, Water. Dahlias will have been planted for about 4 weeks. Learn what they need to succeed!  

SDC Members and "Plus 1's" will enjoy the Annual Member's Picnic. Volunteer Host needed. If you can host the 2026 Picnic, let us know. SDC provides main dishes. Attendees contribute side dishes.

Program will use the Host's Dahlia Garden to demonstrate how to achieve the best blooms for Show.

Getting ready for the Show!  Program is a demonstration of how to "Stage" Dahlia Blooms for Dahlia Shows.  Discussion of how to cut, transport and enter your blooms in SDC and other Dahlia Shows.

How to compete in various categories including Vase, Basket, Photo, and Multiples.

Southtown Dahlia Club's 88th Annual Dahlia Show. Competitor Staging Friday Sept 4, 2026 6 to 10 pm and Sat Sept 5, 2026 5 am to 10 am. Many ways to participate even for non-growers.

Learn how to "Overwinter" your dahlias at this Fall Meeting. 

Celebration of the 2026 Season and Harvesting of the SDC Lake Katherine Dahlia Garden dates will be announced to members via e-mail, Facebook, and on our website
